A Garden Resort

Visitors to Felixstowe can see from the surrounding pictures the attractiveness of the resort, unfortunately this does not apply to the once thriving and pleasant South Seafront Area which the council seems to have purposely  and consistently neglected.

This project rejected by residents and agencies alike has seen the council bend all the rules from the area plan to overlooking Government guidelines in building on a floodplain so that it might go through.

The reasons why this has taken place are unclear but the phrase “follow the money honey” might well sum up the situation.

Building has been delayed due to the present financial recession June 2009, but the council has demolished  the historic Victorian Coastguard Cottages, Herman De Stern and other buildings so that it can go ahead as soon as possible.

This web site contains a potted history of the project.
