§ MRBC provided refreshment marquee with homemade cakes, and refreshments, free of charge, as well as a giant inflatable castle slide and face painting free for the children.

§ All three churches had displays or stalls or games.

§ MRBC had a bi-centenary display archived materials and photographs of times past, as well as a audio visual display of past and present.

§ The three churches in Walton have been working together on community events over the last two years, as well as joint church events. A representative from the churches meets bi-monthly to liaise regarding community events, and the respective Ministers also meet on a regular basis.

Linda Paris, Chair of the strategy group said,  “Our thanks go to all the organisations and individuals who made the day so enjoyable. In our bi-centenary year we wanted to celebrate God’s faithfulness and goodness to us as a church, and to share that with others in the Walton Community.”

2008 Felixstowe’s Fate

Community Day at Maidstone Road Baptist Church Felixstowe

§  Maidstone Road Baptist Church (MRBC) hosted the final part of their 200 years celebrations  in the Walton Community, on 20th September 2008.

§  This was held at Causton Junior School playing fields and St Mary’s Church of England and Seaton Road Methodist Church, helped in the proceedings.

§ 16 invited organisations took part in the day. It was an opportunity for them to fund raise and to offer information about their work.
