Churches Together In Felixstowe Unity Service

The Annual Unity Service of Churches Together in Felixstowe was held on 25 January 2009

The speaker was the Rt Revd Nigel Stock Bishop of St Edmundsbury  and  Ipswich with music by the Salvation Army Band and the Joint Churches Worship Band.

The Mayor of Felixstowe with civic dignitaries  were present and hymns, prayers, bible readings, and reports were presented.

A new member church was welcomed  called the Ranelagh Road Christian Fellowship and the Moderator interviewed and introduced  a new worker amongst older people in Felixstowe (Paul Taylor) together with news from Parish nurse (Jane Pears} and Youth Worker (Adrian Wolton)

Paul Taylor recounted some of the events with the F.T.C.C.O.P.  (Felixstowe Trust for the Christian Care of Older People. ) and Jane Pears made an appeal for volunteers  from the churches to help in supporting those vulnerable people  discharged from hospitals, to meet the need left by the Bartlet Convalescent Home Closure. Adrian Wolton  explained the exciting plans to have a  bus  for the work with young people  to be sited in various locations in Felixstowe and district  on different days of the week. A retiring Offering was made to support this work to be called  the ‘Boost’ Bus
