Waves Breaking over the promenade near to where the building is to take place

Now that Building Permission has been given - Council Admits 1616 Homes at Risk - what a fiasco!

Work on a £25million seafront regeneration project will have to wait - as the maritime park and 158 new homes cannot go ahead unless the sea defences are built.

Plans to build these houses will add to the flood risk both for the new owners and also to present homes through concreting over the soak away.

The neglect of sea defence maintenance over the years' has taken its toll and the desperately needed new sea defences have been delayed a year.

19 rock groynes are needed between the War Memorial and Landguard to replace 50 decaying concrete breakwaters, which experts say may only last a couple more winters.

Suffolk Coastal has been pressing government for funding towards the scheme but has been left "very disappointed" it has not been given a priority status

Residents are even more disappointed that the scheme has been given the go ahead which will have no real benefit to the people of  Felixstowe or Visitors.
