RAF 50th Anniversary Freedom of Felixstowe

50th RAF Anniversary Freedom of Felixstowe
Crowds of people turned up at the Suntrap to celebrate the 50th anniversary for the granting of the Freedom of Felixstowe..
Marching with bayonets fixed, drums beating and the Central Band of the Royal Air force playing it was a grand sight as members of the RAF regiment from Honington marched by.
The Mayor of Felixstowe Councillor Mike Deacon with Wing Commander Andrew Knowles took the salute.
The Clerk of the Council Susan Robinson solemnly read the deed conferring the freedom of entry on the Royal Air Force.
With the sun setting an evening hymn was played by the band as the ensign was lowered and Sunset played followed by the National Anthem.
The freedom of Felixstowe was exercised by marching along Undercliff Road West and returning to the saluting base, where the eyes right command was given passing the dais.
