2008 Felixstowe’s Fate

Beach Levels Felixstowe December 2008.

Much of the lovely sandy beach at Felixstowe seems to be fast  disappearing  with the promenade  sometimes hardly visible with the covering of sand as can be seen from these photographs , It certainly seems that the prom sweepers have a job for life with a continuous turn round.

The beach is still finding it’s own level and the effectiveness of the fish tail Groynes  will be put to the test with a North Easterly gale and tides.

Wheel chair users need not fear restricted access  to the beach though as the ramp seen below has considerable lee way for the beach erosion.
